Heart Failure Monitoring Devices

Approximately 6 million adults in the U.S have heart failure and about half die within 5 years of diagnosis according to the CDC (2016). This is a chronic condition in which the heart muscles are unable to pump blood as they should. There are monitoring devices that could protect you or your loved ones.  These electronic monitoring systems or devices provide information about your heart function wirelessly  and remotely to your healthcare provider daily for active monitoring and management of the disease. Home telemonitoring devices are wonderful and a way to reduce mortality, hospitalizations, and healthcare costs. An example of an FDA approved device for HF monitoring is the implantable CardioMems system.
